Uses of Finasteride.
The authorized uses of the Finasteride drug are several. Among them, we can highlight:
- Treatment of BPH (benign prostatic hyperplasia).
- Male androgenic type Alopecia.
In 1992, the use of finasteride at a dose of 5 mg/day was approved for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
A few years later, in 1997, its use was extended at doses of 1 mg/day to treat androgenic alopecia in men.
Several studies could point to a possible reduction in the relative risk of 30% of developing prostate cancer.
